Parcel forwarding from France to Qatar: prices, delays, customs

Two ways to get a parcel to you

How the shipping price is built
Our price covers transport, packaging and insurance, and it depends on two things: the weight of the box and its size. Carriers charge on whichever is higher, actual or volumetric weight — a big half-empty box is billed as if it were full. For every shipment to Qatar, you see all the available offers, with their price and delivery time, before you pay.
The rule that matters: the price rises far more slowly than the weight. A lone 1 kg parcel is the worst ratio between what you get and what you pay; several orders in one box is the best. Estimate your parcel from its real weight, before you order anything.

On our measurements to Doha, Chronopost Express shows delivery five days after handover to the carrier, FedEx International Priority six, Colissimo International eight, and FedEx International Economy about ten. Customs clearance is included. Each offer displays its own time before you pay.
What Qatar customs collects — and asks for
A parcel from France is an import. Qatar collects customs duties on the value of imported goods, transport and insurance included, with possible exemptions for low-value personal shipments. The consumption-tax regime is evolving in the region: check what applies with the General Authority of Customs before a large order. The carrier advances those sums and claims them from you at delivery, with a handling fee.
For clearance, the carrier usually asks for the recipient's Qatar ID (QID) number, or a copy of the passport. Give it to us with your address, and the parcel doesn't wait.
What we do, and what we don't
- We declare the real value of your items, as it appears on your invoices. It's the law, and it's what protects you: our insurance covers the declared value.
- We never under-declare, even on request. An under-declared parcel can be held, taxed on an estimated value, or seized.
- Duties, taxes and handling fees are never in our price: they depend on Qatar, not on us, and can only be known on arrival.
What can't come in
Beyond the air transport bans, Qatar bans from import alcohol, products containing pork, material deemed contrary to religion or public morals, and controls some medicines and e-cigarettes. Clothes, shoes, cosmetics, toys, books and electronics normally go through.

Qatar uses a numbered system: zone, street, building. Give them as they appear on your official address, add the district and building name if you have them, and above all a local phone number: the courier calls before coming.
